Artist's Statement

When I retired from my career as a graphic designer, I returned to painting--my college major. I started with classes and workshops, joined a summer plein air group and a monthly critique group. My associations with fellow painters has been both inspirational and educational.

 

The landscape challenges me to captures the motion and emotion of the scene. "Art is the lie that tells us the truth." Picasso.

 

And, I paint to tell stories in my portraits.  Who are they? What are they thinking? I find faces fascinating.
